Today is Yom Hazikaron laShoah ve-laG’vurah (יום הזיכרון לשואה ולגבורה) or ‘Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day’ in Israel.  It is celebrated on the 27th of Nisan (Hebrew calendar) each year.
