As I write this, the BBC has a news report running as a headline. It claims ’21 children have died from malnutrition in the last 72 hours’:
Inside the ‘live’ page, it is clear that the news comes from a single source – Dr Mohammed Abu Salmiya – the director of Shifa Hospital:
This director has told the BBC that 900,000 children in Gaza are suffering from hunger, 70,000 of them in a state of malnutrition and they face an alarming number of deaths.
He makes the claim – the BBC just run his words as a headline – spreading this news to a watching world.
Meet the Director’s brother
This is the same director behind the claims making a post about his fallen ‘martyr’ brother:
The brother is Khaled Abu Salmiya. He died on 19 September 2004. He was the object of a targeted killing by Israel.
This post in honour of his ‘martyrdom’ gives us a clear timeline:
The Director’s brother became a member of Hamas in 1989 and joined the military arm in 1992. He was an active Hamas terrorist, helping with the creation of rockets and hand grenades and he ‘participated’ in many operations including laying ‘explosives’.
The director who supports the slaughter of Jews
It cannot be said enough. You CANNOT achieve a position of seniority in Gaza without strong clan affiliation to one of the many terrorist groups there. Every director of every hospital has Hamas or Islamic Jihad hidden away in his family closet. So when the BBC just reprint the accusations these people make as if they were true – the BBC become puppets for a radical terrorist organisation.
It is a lesson many western media outlets appear incapable of learning – and this example shows just how quickly organisations such as the BBC turn these wild claims into headlines.
And for those who do not understand how Gazan clan-based society works, and would suggest that the director’s brother cannot be used against him – here is a post the director himself made on January 27 2023:
The director is celebrating a deadly terrorist attack. On 27 January 2023 seven Israelis were shot dead outside a synagogue in Jerusalem. The brutal attack took place on International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The director’s post is clearly a celebration of a terrorist slaughter of innocent civilians.
So here is a simple question for the executives at the BBC. This is a man who’s family was clearly part of the Hamas terrorist group. He openly celebrates the terrorist murder of innocent civilians. How can you possibly treat his words with such respect – that you put them into a headline image, suggesting they are beyond question? The answer is clear – you have become puppets for a radical Islamic terrorist organisation – and have helped spread lies and antisemitism around the world.
Shame on you all – you are beyond salavation.

The top story in yesterday’s NYT also relies heavily on this pediatrician to smear Israel without identifying his readily discoverable Hamas ties or confirming anything he says (other than to rely on “local health authorities”, a sterilized version of what was previously referred to as “Gaza health authorities”, and which was a sterilized version of what was referred to as “the Gaza Health Ministry” before that.) Soon they’ll cite to Dr. Salmiya as “a reknown local pediatrician.”

Isn’t it strange how some of the most notorious ‘white’ supremacist groups — the same ones that idolize Hitler and celebrate the Holocaust — suddenly claim to care about ‘brown’ “Palestinian” Arabs?
Their selective outrage is telling. The very people who glorify real genocide now pretend to oppose a fake one — using the term “genocide” only when they can aim it at Jews.
Let’s be clear: the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry, which doubles as a propaganda arm, manipulates casualty figures while ensuring civilian suffering by using human shields and obstructing aid. This isn’t about humanitarian concern — it’s about weaponizing lies to demonize Israel.
The hypocrisy is staggering. These extremists don’t care about Arab Muslims. They care about attacking Jews. And they’ve simply found a new banner to march under.
You really can’t make this stuff up.

UK Radio Host Sparks Outrage After Reading Antisemitic Letter On-Air.
British radio host James O’Brien faces backlash after reading an antisemitic listener message on LBC claiming Jewish schools teach hatred, prompting calls for his removal.

Jewish leaders immediately rejected the claim as pure fabrication and called attention to the fact that there is no such thing as “Shabbat School” in British Jewish education. The Community Security Trust (CST) and the Campaign Against Antisemitism called the statement “a dangerous lie” and criticized O’Brien for airing it without challenge.

Within weeks of Swords of Iron, in mid Nov 2023, CNN’s radical C. Amanpour rushed / reached out to Omer Bartov with hopes he would utter the G word. He basically concluded then that if Bibi only fires a few right wing conservatives all will be just fine. AKA politicized hack “genocide expert.”
I have spent a long life time starting with the Home Service then Radio 4 trusting the BBC, listening/watching the News but thanks to their obsession with Gaza (Sudan? Yemen? Haiti? Ukraine even now?) its Radio 3. Thank you David C.

“Gaza’s civil defence agency said at least 10 people were killed across the Palestinian territory on Saturday, including civilians who were waiting to collect aid. Civil defence spokesperson Mahmud Bassal told AFP that at least six people were killed and 30 wounded after Israeli troops targeted civilians assembling near an aid point in central Gaza.”
Simply reported in this vein, on the basis of one person’s claim – a spokesperson for “Gaza Civil Defence Agency”. Just like that, a war crime.
The IDF have accused “spokesperson Mahmud Bassal” of being a Hamas group leader.
