The BBC is spreading dangerous lies

Make no mistake – elements within the BBC have declared a propaganda war against the state of Israel – and if you think this is an exaggeration, you are not paying attention.

At the moment there is little difference between the BBC and the poisonous Qatari mouthpiece Al Jazeera. The BBC is employing journalists (often Islamists) with publicly visible hostility towards the Jewish state – and then allowing these journalists to use the BBC as a massive platform for their toxic activism. The BBC is caught doing this far too often for it to be anything less that an institutional attack on Israel (1, 2, 3), and this post deals with the latest example –  a recently published article covering Victoria state banning the wearing of the keffiyeh in parliament.

BBC activist directs the narrative

Several news outlets reported on the decision by Victoria state to recognise the political message delivered by the wearing of the keffiyeh (the reason for capturing the act under existing rules concerning the wearing of political symbols in the chamber). Many of the articles I found, including those in the GuardianSky News Australia, and even the New Arab – do not even mention the word ‘Nakba’ in the delivery. The BBC journalist chose to bring up the Nakba – probably because it meant that she then needed to explain what the Nakba was – and it is there that the article runs into serious trouble.

Lying through omission

Before I get into why this BBC piece is so dangerous, one other description worthy of note is the explanation of the keffiyeh itself. The BBC journo wrote:

‘the black-and-white keffiyeh became associated with Palestinian identity during the late 1930s’.

Indeed. The keffiyeh became associated with violent Arab groups during the Arab uprising against British rule which took place between 1936-1939.  During this revolt the keffiyeh wearing Arabs killed approximately 260 British servicemen, and the Arab leadership began to insist that notables in the population wear the keffiyeh as a sign of solidarity with the fighters.

Odd that the British state broadcaster chose NOT to mention the fact that the death of 260+ British servicemen is directly linked to the birth of modern keffiyeh symbolism. But then this is the way the BBC does history these days – everything is done to whitewash the Palestinian cause.

The BBC rewrites history to whitewash the Palestinians

Having chosen to mention the Nakba – the BBC journalist now needed to explain to the reader what the Nakba was. And this one short section contained just 47 words – 47 words of pure poison:

This description is so insidious and dangerous it must be challenged. This is not about opinions – nor a slight error. This is major historical revisionism that pushes a entirely false and dangerous narrative. The key point in the BBC description suggests that a war began on the 14 May 1948 and this led to all the ‘Palestinians’ leaving.

The obvious conclusion here is that the Arab Palestinians were innocent victims caught in the war between Israel and Israel’s neighbours that began on May 15. These ‘Palestinian’ Arabs are reduced to passive bystanders who paid a terrible price. The BBC turn the people who actually started the conflict into virgin figures of mythical innocence.

The truth is VERY different – and there is a tsunami of evidence that proves the BBC is spreading lies. I do not intend to spam this post with examples – but rather just given one or two that highlight how false the BBC story is.

Point one – the Arab fighters and the real Nakba

The civil conflict began as soon as the partition vote had taken place. Arab started attacking and killing Jews from early December 1947.

By early 1948 Arab irregular armies were filling British Palestine with bands of foreign fighters:

The May 15 date is connected to the final departure of the last British forces – which created space for regional state armies to attack Israel directly. Israel’s timing of the declaration of independence is also connected to the British departure. But that IS NOT the story of the Arabs fleeing. By May 14 1948 many Arab ‘Palestinians’ had already gone.

The ‘Nakba’ originally referred to the catastrophic Arab defeat against Israel – the fact that the Arabs failed to wipe out the Jews as they had promised. Only later did they create an entirely new fairytale that whitewashes the ‘Palestinians’ completely. This fictional tale is the one the BBC is now spreading.

Point two – the Palestinians fled long before

It is a known fact that the Arab population had been leaving the mandate area in droves ever since the partition plan was adopted.  This from January 1948 describes part of the actual ‘Nakba’ story well. The Arabs (no Palestinians back then) were so invested on fighting the Jews – everything else was chaotic. Meanwhile the elite were all running away.

And there were those leaving to join armies so as to come back and fight. This article from Dec 1947 – just six days after the partition vote:

By April it was a flood. This article about Haifa emptying because the Arabs ‘refused to lay down their arms’:

The BBC Lies

A sickening twist of history by the BBC:

Nor was it all the Jewish fighting forces. During the early months of 1948 – the British forces were still operating. How many Arab fighters crossed into Trans-Jordan fleeing from the British?  And why is the British state broadcaster ignoring the part the UK played in the conflict – and blaming it all on the Jews?

The war began prior to May 15 – and many local Arabs were victims of a war they wanted, started and fought. The BBC attempt to turn them into a population of mythical innocence is part of the hard-core anti-Israel fiction. The lie has spread around the world and only succeeded so well because outlets such as the BBC have unforgivably given it legitimacy.

The journo Zahra Fatima

I had set out to only address the dangerous lies carried in the BBC article – but then I also took a look at the journalist who penned the article – Zahra Fatima. Fatima was only employed by the BBC in April. Before this she worked for the Independent’s UK Platform for British Pakistani audiences. Here she is two months before starting at the BBC – giving a platform to the notorious extremist anti-Zionist cult – the Neturei Karta:

And while she posted absolutely nothing about the Hamas attack or the atrocities carried out on October 7 – by October 13 Fatima was already promoting the genocide lie:

Her ‘likes’ include posts by a string of anti-Israel propagandist accounts, such as Mehdi Hasan, Jeremy Corbyn, Middle East Eye, Abby Martin, Muhammad Smiry, Jackson Hinkle, TRT News, and Clayson Monyela – and she even liked posts from QNN – the Hamas led propaganda channel. This one she ‘liked’ refers to the Labour Party as ‘a wicked genocidal party’:

And here – she liked a post by Asim Qureshi – the Research Director of the extremist Islamist group – CAGE.

All of this is in the public domain – and yet the BBC still saw Zahra Fatima as a worthwhile addition to the team. And that is the problem. Zahra Fatima is far more suited to the BBC’s current DNA than you or I.

Fatima is no different to many others taken on by the BBC to become part of its global news reporting apparatus. People like Fatima are those who have the ideas, and do the work, that supplies the content that fills the pages of the BBC’s websites.  They also fill the HR roles that get to decide who else the BBC is going to employ.

There is only one result. Each day that passes the BBC will resemble Al Jazeera more and more. This is inevitable and it is time we all woke up. The BBC is a news organisation that is at war with the Jewish state. It will set out to lie about and demonise Israel. The BBC cannot help itself – it is in its DNA.

Help support the fight against antisemitism.

My research is unique and hard hitting.

I battle back against those who seek to revise history, demonise Israel –  and I expose antisemitism wherever it is found. I fight when others don’t. The results speak for themselves and for ten years I have been exposing hate and creating headlines.

  1. Zahra Fatimah reminds me of Karim Khan…
Sadly, because of so much disinformation:
Islamic intolerance is so venomous that even “moderate” Muslim-bigot Karim Khan is so vicious at his ICC propaganda based “arrest warrant.”

  2. Gaza death toll: 15k terrorist among 24 k…

“Only some 24,000 fatalities have been identified at hospitals. The tolls, which cannot be verified, include some 15,000 terror operatives Israel says it has killed in battle.”

  3. Speaking, of bias..

What does CNN do when it reaffirms indirectly that the May 27 fire could not have been caused by IDF?

CNN still using notorious anti-Israel Cobb-Smith (linked to anti-Israel group, and as exposed by CAMERA in the past) as a supposed simple-“expert”
I refer to the latter part.
But instead of highlighting the fact that it could not have ignited such a large fire by using this high precision small weapon, this Israelophobe still manages to hurl accusation.
Moreover, Jeremy Diamond on CNN was eager to add that Israel didn’t offer evidence to the theory that Palestinian munitions caused the fire which broke our far from the elimination of two senior Hamas terrorists.
Worst part is, CNN present the case as is Israel hit the civilians. After all.

    Quote:

‘The GBU-39, which is manufactured by Boeing, is a high-precision munition “designed to attack strategically important point targets,” and result in low collateral damage, explosive weapons expert Chris Cobb-Smith told CNN Tuesday. However, “using any munition, even of this size, will always incur risks in a densely populated area,” said Cobb-Smith, who is also a former British Army artillery officer.’
