JLM momentum

JLM blindness, as Momentum go full ‘Israel made up the antisemitism’

On Sunday, the Jewish Labour Movement (JLM) held their AGM. JLM passed a ‘motion of no confidence in Jeremy Corbyn‘. The ‘closest vote of the day’ was apparently an amendment to a motion on antisemitism. Through this amendment the JLM voted to shield Momentum from criticism. Instead of suggesting Momentum had ‘protected those engaging in antisemitism’, they praised Momentum’s commitment to fighting antisemitism‘. There is … Continue reading JLM blindness, as Momentum go full ‘Israel made up the antisemitism’

BBC Fake news

The BBC and Guardian as fake news outlets. Enabling antisemites.

When did the BBC and the Guardian become ‘fake news’ outlets? Last week the Guardian newspaper, published a letter, written by ‘over 200 Jewish members’. It was compiled to belittle the problem of antisemitism in the Labour Party, and in support of Jeremy Corbyn. For some (as yet to be discovered) reason, BBC News even gave airtime to it. The letter is no more than … Continue reading The BBC and Guardian as fake news outlets. Enabling antisemites.

Jewish protestor injured

Hypocritical tweets and violence, why a Jewish protestor ends up in hospital

Yesterday evening a 70-year-old Jewish woman was attacked outside an event that set out to deny there is an antisemitism problem in the Labour Party. Eye witnesses claim she was’ kicked in the face’. Live footage shows another woman being attacked and we also see the injured woman, on the floor, being attended to by police. Luckily neither of the victims were seriously hurt. This … Continue reading Hypocritical tweets and violence, why a Jewish protestor ends up in hospital

antisemitism in Labour

The Jewish community and Jeremy Corbyn are incompatible

Justin Cohen from Jewish News has just done the Jewish community an enormous favour. He has created a piece for the historical record. A detailed and to-the-point interview with Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn in the midst of a crisis over antisemitism. All we needed to know about the man who wants to be Prime Minister is there for us to read. The conclusion is … Continue reading The Jewish community and Jeremy Corbyn are incompatible

Nazis, BDS

BDS black-lists, naive Jews and rabid Nazis. It has been quite a week

Sometimes I find the landscape a little overwhelming. What I do notice when discussing antisemitism within the community, is that each person stands in his own political corner, and focuses on the antisemites that swarm amidst his own personal ‘political enemy’. Activism against antisemitism is often ‘contained’ by political bias. This means that against Nazis on the far-right, there is a clear consensus, but when … Continue reading BDS black-lists, naive Jews and rabid Nazis. It has been quite a week

khaybar - London

Islamic war cries heard, as antisemitism runs free on the streets of London

Jerusalem – the capital of Israel Before discussing London, first a quick note about Jerusalem. It is where Israel’s Government sits and is inside Israel’s internationally recognised borders. Israel, as a sovereign state, has every right to name its own capital. So what is the problem here? The responsible nations on the planet should have recognised Jerusalem as the capital decades ago. Unofficially they all … Continue reading Islamic war cries heard, as antisemitism runs free on the streets of London

SHEPPARD - Anti Jewish circus

Tommy Sheppard’s anti-Jewish Marxist circus comes to Westminster

Last week an event was held in Westminster, that is alleged to have deliberately excluded Jewish members from attending.  My own ticket was cancelled due to an overbooking, yet I later managed to get a place booked with a non-Jewish name. Some Jews who turned up were refused entry at the door, despite there being empty seats in the committee room. That particular event was … Continue reading Tommy Sheppard’s anti-Jewish Marxist circus comes to Westminster

The antisemitism problem in the Labour party turns from bad to shameless

The antisemitism problem inside the Labour Party is turning from bad to shameless. Just this week, there were two more public incidents. Potential Labour candidate Nasreen Khan was dropped in Bradford for making antisemitic remarks on social media. Jewish News ran the story, but the question remains how even now, these candidates are not being properly vetted by the system. In another example, Labour ‘withdrew … Continue reading The antisemitism problem in the Labour party turns from bad to shameless

Asa Winstanley

An open ‘response’ for Asa Winstanley at Electronic Intifada

It seems as though Asa Winstanley at ‘Electronic Intifada’ decided he needed to attack me. A point of recognition that indicates the work you are doing is having an effect. When Mondoweiss dedicated an entire piece to me, I considered it a mark of respect. The Algemeiner J100 recognition was another step up. Now Electronic Intifada? One of the central hate-filled mouthpieces of the entire … Continue reading An open ‘response’ for Asa Winstanley at Electronic Intifada

Miko Peled at the Labour Party Conference

Facing raw antisemitism at the Labour Party Conference 2017

I have spent all week in Brighton, at the 2017 Labour Party Conference. This was my first visit to the conference. As someone who dislikes the ideological straitjacket of political affiliation, it will probably be my last. From the suffocating presence of ‘Palestinian solidarity’ to an obvious tolerance for rabid antisemites, this week was deeply unsettling. There were times where the atmosphere was scary. How … Continue reading Facing raw antisemitism at the Labour Party Conference 2017
